Banana Anna

So, a few may find this offensive, but it was funny so I'm sharing. Several weeks back, Anna lied to me. I was in an odd parenting moment and I informed my three year old that liars are thrust down to Hell. I also told her Hell was a scary hot place. I did to it in a jovial manner, Maybe not my best moment; she had a tad bit of fear in her eyes and she told the truth. Anyways it stuck with her. Last week at the end of my work week, I started singing, "I don't have to go to work for 5 days." I repeated this a few times and then 3 days into my 5 days off Lexie asked if it had been five days. At first I didn't know what she was talking about. She then prefaced my singing. I explained that I didn't have to work tomorrow, being Sunday, or Monday, but come Tuesday I would be going to work. Anna replied, "I, don't like Tuesday, Tuesday can thrust down to Hell." I guess at least she used it appropriately. I tried not to laugh and told her it was probably best if we didn't talk this way; but man that girl has some humor and fire in her! I love it. She has been providing me with endless comedy lately and keeping me humble. I do have to say, I'm glad she'd rather be home with me, cause heaven knows I'd rather be with her!

Anna the Banana at 2. Handful. Dollface. Spitfire. Beautiful. Full of Personality. Loves babies, dolls or real. Determined. Knows her mind. Melts my heart. My baby. Loves books. Loves I am a Child of God. Sweet. Funny. Makes me happy everyday. Definitely one of my greatest blessings. As a mother it is funny how at times you are overwhelmed with feelings of love and gratitude for your children. I have been having this feeling lots lately about this little rug rat. She was being so funny on Sunday so we took a few pictures of the goofy thing and I thought they captured her personality perfectly. She wore her hair curly for church which I also thought captured her essence perfectly. It is funny to me about names, and coinciding personalities I had envisioned for such names. I had the names Anna and Lexie picked out before I was ever married. Funny thing is Anna's looks and personality was more of what I thought would be "Lexie" but she is Anna and she'll let you know, "I'm Anna." She says this after any adjective used to describe her, "your silly," "no I'm Anna." I love her more than I ever knew possible. I want to drink her up while she'll still let me. Love you Annie always be YOU cause you do it great!

"I have a headache"

So the other night Lex had the ice pack out Anna picked it up and told us all she had a headache. She is such a funny little girl, and talking so much. Love you Anne.

This is my Annie at two. We celebrated her birthday on September 7th. I can hardly believe she is two. Every time our baby has turned two we have had a new baby in the house. I'm grateful she has gotten to stay a "baby". She is so funny. Any nick name you give her she says, "I'm Anna." She is a sweetheart.
She loves Andrew so much, and imitates her big sister. Today I had to tell Lexie to quit whining about her burrito for lunch because Anna started whining when she heard Lex do it, and she had specifically asked for burritos. Thankfully Lexie stopped when I explained she needed to be an example. Lexie ate the burrito, Anna finished hers asked for a second one and polished it off as well.
She counts and skips numbers. She says she is six, because she knows it will make me laugh. She LOVES books. She would be happy if someone would hold her and read to her all day. Her favorite song is Child of God as she calls it. She also likes Rain Drops on Roses. She has big brown eyes that will melt your heart and the cutest pouty face. She always has her two fingers in her mouth, a habit which is going to be hard to break. At two she is getting naked all the time. She drives her parents nuts with this. She loves to get into my make-up. She needs to be potty trained as she takes her diaper off as soon as it is wet, and comes to be changed immediately after poopy ones. Any tips on this I am open to. We are spending more in diapers now than as an infant because she takes them off all the time.

Tell me, am I normal? After taking Anna back to the doctor and getting her lab results, I stewed most of day until I spoke with Sarah; Sarah is Jeremy's super smart cousin, my age, who is a pediatrician in Florida. After stewing I called my mother-in-law for Sarah's number and placed a call. She was wonderful to call the paranoid mother back the same afternoon, and I felt better after talking with her but I have started feeling paranoia again.

The lump on Anna's neck remains the same. Her white blood cell count was low, but just barely. The Dr. told me he appreciated my concern, understood where it was coming from but I was prematurely worried. I think they play it cool, and of course I think they have to, but if there was no worry on his part we wouldn't be coming back and having repeat labs, right? Is this correct deductive reasoning? I'm sure I am just being paranoid but you know as a mother and a nurse you think lump, swollen lymph nodes your mind wanders to the worst. Tell me I'm normal and there is no cause for concern.

FLATTERY

Who ever said flattery gets you no where must not have had children. As you can see from the picture Anna is into imitating me, and isn't imitation the most sincere form of flattery? I think this is one of the things I love most about being a mom. It reminds you how much little kids want to be like the adults in there life. There little minds are like sponges and they hear and remember all the little things we say and do. I need to do better at being the example they need. Don't you just love when they try on your shoes, especially the high heels, which Lex has taken to doing. She thinks they are soooo pretty, in her little, high pitched, excited voice with a smile that would melt your heart. As taxing as motherhood can be on somedays, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

P.S. After seeing this picture I am glad I'm usually behind the camera and not in front.

Little Anne

Yesterday I took Annie to the Doctor for a lump she has on her neck. It has been there for a few months and has been looked at before, but has persisted. Anyhow, the Doctor said, "these things are usually innocuous" then followed it up with "benign", cause he didn't think I was smart enough to know the meaning of innocuous. Why do they, (they being Doctors) assume everyone is dumb? Actually I know the answer to that one, a lot of the people they deal with are not the sharpest tools in the shed. I digress. The point to this post was he had me take Anna to have her blood drawn.

We got to the lab like 5 minutes before closing hoping they would still get us in. The lady was there alone and was worried about being able to get her to hold still. I said I would certainly be able to hold the light weight down. She then, before starting asked me if I would be okay. I explained I was a tough love mom, and would be fine. Anna did great, but I was surprised at how much it did pull on my heart strings. I said to Jeremy, "I don't know how parents who have chronically ill kids do it." I don't think I could imagine anything worse. So to anyone who has had that cross to carry. My hats off to you.

Anna's First!

We celebrated Anna's first birthday on the 7th! Happy Birthday little Doll. Anna is a delightful baby and I can hardly believe she is already one year old. I must say I am so thankful for her sweet disposition or I'm certain I would not have survived the last year.
Anna is not walking yet but as for everything else she did it all early. She started sleeping through the night at 3 months and honestly I cannot remember a time since than when she got up at night. We are very grateful for this. She was rolling over around four month and army crawling at six, and upright crawling not to much later. She loves her brother and sister and will crawl after them as fast as she can trying to keep up. Anna loves treats, me, she likes sitting in car seats which are not in the car or any sort of little chair. She loves phones and remotes and says "Hi" We love her and are so glad she is in our family. I think she has the most beautiful eyes and smile ever. Everyone informs me she look just like her dad! We love you Anna! My pictures from her birthday are not very good, but we well go out and take some one year photos and add them to the post.

I think one of the reasons I love babies so much is because a baby loves its mother more than anything in the world and really this is very flattering. She gets so excieted when she sees me, she starts panting, like a dog. She crawls after me and gives me the best hugs in all the world. She is such a good baby. I saw some article in a baby magazine at the doctors the other day and it was about how to get your baby on a napping schedule. Anna just goes down. No crying or fussing, I lay her in her crib with her blanket and she just turns onto her tummy sticks her bum in the air puts her middle and ring finger of her left hand in her mouth and minutes later she is sleeping. She is a dream baby. She loves this raggedy Ann doll!

Little Anna, you are nealry six months old here. What a sweetheart you are. I tell you what if all babies were as good as you people would have a hundred. I know everyone is thinking well Kim you're well on your way to a hundred with three, three and under, but I wouldn't change it. I love being a Mom, and most days things go pretty well. Today We drew handlebar mustaches on Andrew and Lexie. Andrew likes this, and this way he can have make-up on but in a macho way. See, he always wants to put make-up on when I'm doing mine. We played chase, had tickle fights, and did zerberts on each others tummies. Anna has been such a joy, she loves her cereal. I've never had a baby who loves cereal so much. Lately Anna has been talking up a storm, especially at church. Although it seems to be her growling bear voice she tends to use at church. She has also discovered her feet this week. I love the happy baby pose. Today she was sucking on her toe, so cute. Well this is all for now. I'm going to go ahead and post this and try and add another picture later, so I'll see how it works.
