Out of the Mouths of Babes

Tonight we were reading scriptures as a family. We are a bit hit in miss in this endeavor, but we are trying. We were reading in 1 Nephi, about the tree of life. Matt is really good to explain to the kids, what is going on, and they listen with surprisingly good intent, if he is the reader. As he was talking about the fruit on the tree, Anna asked if it was an apple. Matt said, no the fruit was "exceedingly" white. Anna then chimed in, "it's a mushroom." Lexie told her, "mushrooms aren't fruit." Then a bit later Andrew commented on the pineapple on the tree. For some reason this little interaction made me happy. I was happy to know that even my little 3 year old was listening, and hopefully gaining something from this exercise.
