Tim McGraw!

So last night I went to the Tim McGraw concert with some work friends. I was a little bummed because I missed Lady Antebellum, who opened for them; it took me 2.5 hours to get to Usana from NSL. Other than this it was a great night. I've decided I need to go to concerts more. I was laughing so hard. There was this lady in front of us, I'm certain she must be named Elaine with those dance moves, she'd also had a few. I'm a horrid dancer, but compared to her I looked amazing. Corrine imitated her and I did a bit as well, it was a good time. Thanks girls for a great night! Laura looked great in her cowboy hat. Next time I need to have the proper country attire. Plus I've always wanted cowboy boots. It was super fun. I could do worse than looking at Tim McGraw for an evening! Thanks ladies lets do it again!

Just Thinking...

I love Utah sunsets. Well, I love sunsets anywhere. This is the view from Jess's house. It is awesome.
so I have finally been able to get into a book. I've been in a dry spell lately. IT is, Have a little faith, by Mitch Albom. It's a true story. Mitch is interviewing/visiting with his childhood rabbi. For some reason this Rabbi has asked him to do his eulogy. Rabbi's been sick for awhile. Anyways, these two men develop a friendship. One day as they visit, the topic of happiness comes up. Mich asks Rabbi, "what is the key?" Rabbi respond, "Be satisfied. Be grateful." I have spent some time thinking on this. Rabbi speaks truth. Most of the unhappiness in my life, is a result of not listening to this counsel. I guess it all comes back to being in the here and now. When I do this, it seem I"m satisfied with what is, instead of being caught up in a constant stream of thought, of all that is not right in my life, or what I need or should be doing. Believe me when I say, there is more than one way in which "things"in my life are not right. Point is, this is true for all of us, no one has the "perfect" life; so when we not only accept, but are satisfied, with what is, life's better. Not sure if that makes any sense but enough babble for today. So I'm aiming to : Be SATISFIED & Be GRATEFUL!

Grief...

There have been a few things in my world recently, that have gotten me thinking about grief. Everyone deals with grief at one point or another in life: health problems, infertility, financial stress, marital difficutlies, addiction... the list is long and sometimes sorted... Grief= Pain. Pain is pain and nobody can determine the degree of anothers suffering, or really compare suffering. So my thoughts on dealing with it all:
  1. Allow yourself to "feel" the emotion when it comes. Don't shove it down. Just be.
  2. Let tears happen
  3. Accept yourself
  4. Do your best to avoid the whys, and if only's... I assume all go here. Escape the trap of getting "stuck" here.
  5. Be paitent with yourself. Work through your grief at your own pace

Wish life was all sunshine and lolipops, but I guess if it were, it'd be easy to forget to recoginize the blessings.
